Once again, the package includes:
A shot glass, a die, an instruction sheet, and 108 cards.
Preparation:
There are 2 decks in the package. There is no functional difference between them — they contain the same cards, with 54 cards in each deck.
At the start of the game, you take the shot glass, place it in the center, and lay out all 108 cards around it in a circle (as shown in the picture). The youngest player starts the game, and play continues clockwise. You draw cards one by one, read what’s written on them, and carry out the action.
Principle:
The 108 cards are divided into several types.
These types are: PAGE, KKNIGHT, BARON, COUNT, EARL, MARQUESS, DUCHESS, DUKE, PRINCESS, PRINCE, QUEEN, and KING.
The principle of all the card types mentioned above is almost the same: you draw a card, and it tells you something that must be done. What needs to be done is either verbal (it can simply be a question) or involves an action — but everything is simple and lasts no more than a few seconds.
As a result, the game moves at a fast pace, you don’t linger on any single card for long, and on average you’ll be drawing a new card every 10–20 seconds. Someone will end up taking at least a sip of a drink after almost every card.
KING card is functionally different from the others. When you draw it, you simply place it on top of the shot glass. You don’t have to say anything or do any action, and you get off easy — unless you are the fourth person in order who has to place a card on the shot glass.
If you happen to be the fourth one to place a card on the shot glass, then you have to take a drink. At that point, all the cards placed on the shot glass are returned to the deck laid out around the glass.
Dice: There are also 2 more types of cards: WIZARD and JESTER. When you draw either of these, you must roll the die — no exceptions.
The die has 6 sides, showing a boy, a girl, a crown on two sides, and the words ALL and YOU.
If it lands on the boy, all the guys drink.
If it lands on the girl, all the girls drink.
If it lands on YOU, you drink.
If it lands on ALL, everyone drinks except you.
If it lands on the crown, there are 2 possible outcomes:
– If you rolled the die because you drew a WIZARD, you place that card on top of the shot glass, exactly the same way as a KING card.
– If you rolled the die because you drew a JESTER, then congratulations — nothing happens. Everyone gets off easy and you simply continue the game.
Ending the game:
In any game, the biggest party pooper is the moment when someone gets tired, loses the vibe, sits there forcing it for a bit, and then gets up and leaves. To prevent that — in this game and in general in any turn-based board game — there’s a simple solution: after you complete 5 full rounds (meaning when it’s the starting player’s turn for the sixth time), you take a majority vote to decide whether to continue for 2 more rounds. After those 2 rounds, you vote again — either to continue for another 2 rounds or to end the game.
This way, no one feels like the game will drag on forever, and everyone stays more engaged. This principle works especially well for this game.
Apart from this principle, there’s only one alternative: drink until you pass out. 🍻
Additional tips:
1. It’s best to keep the included shot glass dry, since it sits in the middle of the cards and someone will definitely end up spilling a drink on them. Use the game’s shot glass as a symbolic centerpiece, and give everyone their own personal shot glass — it’s also much more hygienic that way.
2. The circle formed by the cards around the shot glass must not be broken. If the circle is broken, the person who broke it has to take a drink.
3. Chacha is too strong, beer is too weak. Martini, Baileys, Jägermeister, and Sheridan work perfectly for this game.
Have fun 🙂
